Filing IFTA for California miles
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) administers IFTA for California-based carriers. California's IFTA diesel rate includes both diesel fuel tax and excise tax, and the diesel fuel tax part is adjusted every July 1.
Carriers that travel only between California and Mexico, or that are not based in an IFTA jurisdiction, need a separate Interstate User Diesel Fuel Tax License.
